The 200 Hour Teacher Training Program at Grace is a comprehensive and experiential program that provides aspiring teachers and inquisitive students with a supportive, nurturing environment to grow as a yoga teacher or to deepen an existing practice. We build on the foundations of traditional yogic philosophy and explore the fundamentals of modern yoga through a variety of styles, including vinyasa flow. Our goal is to hold space for each to student to receive what they need from this program.

Testimonials

“I am so grateful for my experience in Grace's YTT program! The instructors were thoughtful and patient guides on our journey, always responsive to our questions, offering unique insights into what yoga is and means, and focusing on our individual and collective needs as learners. I especially appreciated our focus on how to teach in a way that honors each yogi's body and what it would feel like to lead a class. We started practicing our teaching right away, and while it was a bit scary, I know it was so important to my growth and development of my unique voice as an instructor.” ~Kimberly

“Above all else, my Grace YTT experience allowed me to better understand and deepen my relationship with myself. Through self-study and group discussions, I enhanced my understanding and practice of yoga way beyond the asana (physical) practice. I am forever grateful to have completed my YTT through Grace and to be teaching and practicing yoga at Grace.” ~Hiba

“The YTT program at Grace was exactly what I needed during a period of impostor syndrome, which is so common to many of us aspiring yoga practitioners. Our instructors took special care to consistently pay attention to accessibility, inclusivity, and loving kindness during every single session. Because the program believes so deeply in providing everyone with the tools we need to achieve our individual goals in a non-competitive way, it invites a true diversity of participants (across race, age, gender, faith) leading to very rich discussions. I cherished the community we built during our time together and cannot speak highly enough of how fun our retreat was (and how delicious the food was there!). I learned more than I could have imagined and continue to benefit from our instructors’ wisdom in my daily life.” ~Neha

Our Faculty

Our Lead Teachers will be your primary points of contact and will lead most of the sessions, but other members of our faculty will offer perspectives on their areas of expertise, including Michele Russ, Anatomy with Jennifer Brennan, Ayurveda with Amy Dixon, Inclusivity Training with Shervon Laurice, Pranayama with Lauren Schulz, and a teacher panel toward the end of the program.

Jade Olubayo

Jade has received the gift of practicing yoga for over 17 years and this will be her fifth year co-leading the 200 Hour YTT Program at Grace. The time spent on her mat has helped her through the most rewarding and challenging times in her life. She transitioned from teaching 5th graders in Washington DC to teaching vinyasa in local gyms, corporate settings and privately. She enjoys sharing the knowledge that she has acquired and eagerly continues to grow as a student. Jade is a firm believer that yoga is for all and should be taught with care, safety and respect for the practice. Introducing others to yoga is up there as one of her all time favorite things. Her 200-hour training was at Yoga District and she continued to study through a teacher apprenticeship at Skyhouse Yoga. Jade is currently completing her 500-hour YTT.

Ana Lincoln

Ana is a Studio Manager at Grace and has practiced yoga for 20+ years. She had the honor of completing her own 200 yoga teacher training as part of the Grace 2024 class. While she has long appreciated the physical practice of yoga, the mental and emotional benefits of practicing have become just as important in her practice and teaching. In her teaching, Ana creates classes that support strength, flexibility, and mobility while connecting mind and body through breath. Ana seeks to empower her students to make wise choices for their own bodies. She enjoys learning and growing in her own practice, which influences her teaching--she is infinitely grateful for the chain of teachers who have passed down the traditions of yoga and created new practices. Ana is thrilled to be a co-lead for the 200-hour YTT program at Grace because she loves teaching and mentoring. Before teaching yoga, she taught literature in high school and college classrooms and looks forward to using aspects of that experience in YTT. Off the mat, you'll find her reading, baking, doing puzzles, and spending time with her husband and community, but mostly reading.
