Our Story

Grace was founded on the concept that everyone can find grace by practicing grace. The idea started when two long-time friends, yoga practitioners, and Silver Spring residents met over a cup of tea.

Michelle Radecki had spent most of her career as a corporate attorney, but had recently retired to spend more time with her family and find more meaning and purpose in her life. She attributed much of her newfound inner peace and happiness to her yoga practice, and decided she wanted to find a way to share this with her community.

Lenore Fusciello Baker, on the other hand, had recently revved up her career in health and fitness after her youngest child began Kindergarten. As an ACE certified fitness professional, health and lifestyle coach and corporate wellness specialist, Lenore got busy quickly. While she loved teaching and working in the corporate environment, she always hoped for a space that she could make home.

When the two started brainstorming, they found they shared a common philosophy and goal, and Grace was born!

We recommend that beginners and first-time visitors start with our Yoga Basics class.

I am not very flexible.  Can I still take yoga classes?

Yes!  While yoga classes will help build flexibility, you do not need to be flexible to take yoga classes.  Our teachers will offer modifications for all types of bodies, so relax and do what makes sense for you!

I have never worked with weights or props before.  Is that a problem?

No.  Our teachers will work with you to ensure that you are using the weights and props properly. We have free weights ranging from 2 lbs. to 14 lbs., so choose the weight that’s right for you. No experience is needed!

What is the temperature of the heated classes and why are they heated?
The studio temperature is between 80-85 degrees for our heated classes. This moderate heat will help the body eliminate toxins and will make the body more flexible.

Yes, all students are welcome to attend any class on the schedule!

How do I sign up?
We encourage you to register for classes online to hold your place.  You may also pay for any of our classes and/or packages online or in person at the studio.

What should I wear?
We recommend movable exercise pants, leggings or shorts made of breathable fabric. Sneakers/trainers are required for Strength & Flow and Strength classes.  All other classes are taken barefoot.

What time do I need to arrive for class?

We recommend that you arrive 10-15 minutes before the start of class to give yourself time to check in and to get settled for class.  Our studio policy is to lock our doors 5 minutes after the start of class to avoid disruption.

Do I need to bring anything with me?
Our studio is fully equipped with mats, towels, weights and other props used for our classes.  We have filtered water available for you to refill your water bottle.

Are there showers and changing-room facilities?
Our studio is equipped with two large restrooms where you are welcome to change and wash up. We do not have shower facilities.

Is there a place for me to store my belongings during class?

Except for Strength & Flow and Strength classes, we ask that you please remove your shoes outside our reception area entrance door to help us keep our studio clean.  There are hooks available near the restrooms in the reception area for storing coats and other items.  We ask that you please silence your cell phone if you are bringing it in to the studio.

How do I know if a class is cancelled due to inclement weather?

In the case of inclement weather, please check our online class schedule for cancellations before heading to class.  If you are registered for a class and it is cancelled, you will receive an email notification.
